Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Teye Partey is on the verge of leaving Arsenal after contract extension talks between the player and the club reportedly hit a roadblock, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Partey’s current deal with the Gunners is set to expire on June 30, fueling widespread speculation about his future in North London. While manager Mikel Arteta remains eager to retain the 31-year-old to maintain depth in midfield, negotiations have stalled, and the likelihood of a departure is growing.
Despite persistent injury concerns in previous years, Partey enjoyed his most productive campaign in an Arsenal shirt during the 2024/25 season. He made 52 appearances across all competitions—his highest tally since joining from Atlético Madrid—and contributed four goals and three assists, playing a central role in Arteta’s tactical plans throughout the club’s domestic and European runs.
With multiple offers reportedly on the table, Partey is now carefully considering his options ahead of a potential move. A final decision is expected in the coming days.
The former Atlético Madrid star is currently vacationing in Ghana following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
