Asante Kotoko have been crushed out of the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League after losing 3-0 to Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors who entered the game with high expectations following their 2-0 win in the first leg in Kumasi, failed to score a goal in Tunisia against Etoile who ended the game with ten men.
Kotoko barely poised a threat in the game and got dominated by the Tunisian side who picked the lead in the first half courtesy a controversial penalty.
The second goal came through a blistering header at the far post after a cross was whipped in from the right wing to put both teams on a tied aggregate scoreline.
Etoile, on the stroke to the final whistle grabbed the winner with another great header at the near post after Kotoko defenders failed to stop the air ball.
The Ghanaian side by virtue of the defeat, are out of the Champions League and will join scores of clubs in the playoffs round for the CAF Confederation Cup.
