Black Meteors forward Abass Issah has insists there is no pressure on him ahead of Ghana’s Caf U23 championship group opening fixture against Cameroon.
The FC Utrecht forward joined the team on Tuesday as they intensified preparations for their group opener against Cameroon on Friday.
A lot is expected from him after a wonderful start at club side scoring a goal in nine games for the Dutch side.
Speaking after taking part in the training session for the first time, Abass insisted he is not under any pressure to deliver, but his winning mentality is what drives him.
“There’s no pressure on me , I always want to win and even at training I always wants to win so that’s my mentality.
“I just hate to loose and people have been praising me about that mentality so I just have to stick to that mentality.
“It’s very evident that everyone around the team is very ready so we just have to understand each other and fight for what belongs to us.
The Mainz o5 attacker who is on loan at Utrecht also refused to set a target for himself insisting he doesn’t want to be selfish.
“I can’t spell out my target for the tournament, if you always have a target on the number of goals to score, selfishness may arise and that won’t help the team.
