The 2023-24 CAF Confederations Cup kicked off on Sunday afternoon with two games simultaneously at 1 pm as Ghanaian debutants Dreams FC were beaten by Club Africain in Tunisia and Supersport United also lost to Future FC in Egypt.
At the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Rhades, Club Africain recorded their first win of the CCC by winning 2-0 against Dreams FC. Two first-half goals from Tayeb Meziani and Kingsley Eduwo in the 5th and 19th minute consigned the Ghanaian minnows to defeat.
Dreams FC finished the game with 10 men as defender Abdul Jalilu was red-carded in the 59th minute.
In Cairo, Future FC narrowly defeated Supersport United of South Africa by 1-0. A 76th-minute goal from Ghanam Mohammed ensured that Future FC commences their CCC campaign with a win.
