Former Asante Kotoko and Black STARS defender Emmanuel Ampiah believes Black Stars players won’t respect current head coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor because he has what he describes as ‘low personality’.
According to the former Kotoko defender, players who play for the Black Stars, need someone who is very hard to manage them but not a ‘low personality CK Akonnor.

Akonnor, who has previously coached XI Wise, Hearts of Oak, Dreams FC, AshantiGold and Asante Kotoko, replaced his former boss Kwasi Appiah as Ghana head coach in January 2020.
Kwasi Appiah’s contract with the Ghana Football Association expired on 31st December, 2019.
“Personality is much involved in football. There are some coaches who command total respect immediately you see them so If the players will respect CK Akonnor then that will be great but for me, Akonnor’s personality is very low,” Ampiah told Kwaku Osei’s YouTube TV Channel.

Ampiah won several titles and individual awards during his spell with Ghanaian powerhouse Kotoko from the 1991/92 season to 1999.
He later switched camp to cross-city rivals King Faisal where he spent three seasons before he moved to Berekum Arsenal.
