Former Asante Kotoko Board Member Afrifa Yamoah Ponko has sadly passed away, as reported by Metro TV.
He was a prominent figure in the opposition National Democratic Congress and has left behind a notable legacy in both sports and politics.
Yamoah Ponko, who died in his 60s, had been unwell for several weeks prior to his passing, although the exact cause of death has not been disclosed. He succumbed to a long illness on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Prior to his involvement with Asante Kotoko, Mr. Yamoah Ponko served as the Chief Executive of the Ejisu/Juaben Municipal Assembly, where he made significant contributions to the community.
His death marks a loss for both the football community and the political landscape in Ghana.
