Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko SC, have announced the departure of their top striker Albert Amoah to Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi.
Amoah, a promising striker in the Ghanaian elite league moves to the North African side following the club’s elimination from the Caf Confederation Cup competition.
Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco handed the Porcupine Warriors a heavy 5–1 defeat in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match on Friday, sealing a 6–1 aggregate win to qualify for the group stage of the competition.

Amoah joined Asante Kotoko last year from Great Olympics and signed a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Amoah became an instant performer for the Porcupine Warriors where he ended the 2024–25 season’s campaign as the club’s top scorer with 15 goals in 29 matches across all competitions.
He played an instrumental role in the club’s FA Cup triumph last season by notching up three goals in four matches.
Amoah netted four goals in six matches for Asante Kotoko in this season’s campaign where he scored twice against Kwara United in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
