Newly invited Black Stars forward, Kamal Sowah responded to his first-ever Ghana call-up with a brace of assists to help Oud-Haverlee Leuven pick point away at KV Mechelen.
The Ghanaian forward saw 90 minutes in his team’s hard-earned 2-2 draw in the Belgium Pro League on Sunday afternoon against a hard-to-break Mechelen side on the road.
Aster Vranckx gave the home team a 30th-minute lead but that was canceled out by the visitors five minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes when Sowah set up Casper de Norre to score the equalizing goal before the break.
Twenty minutes to full time, the 21-year-old on loan Leicester City man again set up teammate, Siebe Schrijvers to score the visitors’ second goal to take a 2-1 lead.
Ferdy Druijf scored a spot-kick inside the 80th-minute mark to salvage a point for the home team to deny Oud-Haverlee Leuven a vital away win.
The Ghanaian forward has played 31 games in the Belgium top-flight this season scoring eight times and has provided five assists so far.
