The Porcupine Warriors stalwart center-back has congratulated his teammates namely Captain Amos Frimpong, Goalkeeper Felix Annan and midfielder Kwame Bonsu after being invited by Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah for the Black Stars final Afcon Qualifier game against Kenya.
The trio, has been rewarded with invitation into the team following their impressive performance in the ongoing Caf Confederation Cup.
In-form Annan, will be hoping to beat competition from No. 1 Goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Lawrence Ati Zigi for a start berth against the Harambee Stars on 23rd March, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Amos Frimpong on the other hand, finds himself in a tough challenge with Reading defender Andy Yiadom and will need to work hard to command a starting berth at the right-back.
Kwame Bonsu who undeniably, has been Kotoko’s star boy in the Caf Confederation Cup, will also need to justify his call up as he faces a tough competition from Vitória S.C midfielder Alhassan Wakasu and Sassuolo ace Alfred Duncan to possibly partner Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey in midfield as Kwasi Appiah prepares to announce a winsome squad for the 2019 Afcon in Egypt in June this year.
Ganiu tweeted ”The journey has just started my people congrats on ur Call up.”
