Ghanaian international Daniel Amartey has arrived in Turkey to finalize his transfer to Besiktas during the current transfer window.
The Black Stars defender is set to join Besiktas as a free agent after his contract with Leicester City expired last month.
Sportsworldghana.com had previously reported that Amartey is expected to sign a two-year deal with an option to extend for an additional year, pending the successful completion of his medical examinations.
Following the completion of the necessary paperwork at the club, the former Premier League champion will be officially unveiled by Besiktas.
The Turkish club is looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming 2023/24 season, and acquiring the services of the experienced Black Stars defender is seen as a significant addition to bolster their defense.
Amartey’s tenure at Leicester City, which began in January 2016, saw him contribute to the club’s historic Premier League title triumph. He was also instrumental in their FA Cup victory against Chelsea in 2021.
Interestingly, one of his fellow Black Stars teammates, Alexander Djiku, had already sealed a move to another Turkish club, Fenerbahce, a few weeks ago.
