The Black Stars of Ghana are on the verge of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a commanding 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic in their penultimate Group I qualifier on Wednesday.
Goals from Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana powered Otto Addo’s men to a dominant win at the Stade D’Honneur de Meknes in Morocco.
The result lifts Ghana to 22 points — three clear at the top of Group I — meaning a draw in their final game against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, in Accra will seal their fifth World Cup appearance.
Jordan Ayew, the team’s top scorer in the qualifiers, struck a stunning volley for his seventh goal of the campaign, while defenders Mohammed Salisu and Alexander Djiku ensured a watertight backline.
The win keeps Ghana firmly on course to return to the world stage at the 2026 tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
