The doubt about Marc Brys, the newly appointed head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon not having signed any contract has been finally cleared.
The Belgian tactician, 61, was appointed by the Cameroonian Sports Ministry without the consent of the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o. The former Barcelona forward even was not at his inauguration which shows that he was not in support of the FECAFOOT decision.
Marc Brys has personally confirmed that he has signed a contract with the Cameroonian FA.
“I read and heard that I had not signed a contract. But I do have one!
“I will spend time in Cameroon to interact with local coaches, follow championship matches and observe the youth selections because the future is being prepared now,” said Bryce.
FECAFOOT and the Cameroonian Ministry of Sports are at loggerheads due to the appointment of the Belgian head coach.
Marc Brys will play his first competitive gameagainstt Cape Verde at home in the MD3 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
During the first international break of 2024 after the 2023 AFCON, Cameroon did not play any game because they were not ready.
