The Ghana Premier League returned over the weekend with the second round and eight outstanding performers of week 16 went home with NASCO mobile each as their prizes.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways with a 1:0 away win over Tema Youth after a frustrating run of eight games without a win in the league, and the most outstanding performer of that match was Baba Mahama. Mahama had found life at Kotoko a bit difficult after scoring his debut goal for the club in the round of 32 of the MTN FA Cup, he marked another great performance with a goal and ended up being named NASCO man of the match in that rare Kotoko win.
Medeama were in sensational form in Tarkwa as they thumped Bolga All Stars 5:1. The architect of that emphatic win was NASCO man of the match, Bernard Ofori, whose hat trick helped sunk Bolga All Stars.
At the El Wak Stadium in Accra, Inter Allies defeated WAFA by a lone goal, but it was WAFA’s Majeed Ashimeru who was adjudged the NASCO man of the match.
Accra Hearts of Oak’s Leonard Tawiah was named the NASCO man of the match in Hearts’ 1:1 draw with Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium, while Ashantigold’s Theophilus Nyame won the prize in his side’s 1:1 away draw with Wa All Stars.
Aduana Stars thrashed Bechem United 3:0 in Dormaa Ahenkro to go top of the Premier League table. Sam Adams scored one of the goals and he ends up with the NASCO man of the match prize.
On Saturday, Coffie Bekoe scored the only goal of the match to give Accra Great Olympics a 1:0 win over Berekum Chelsea in Accra, but it was Adom Ampofo who was adjudged to have made the biggest impact on the match, thus winning the NASCO man of the match.
And in Cape Coast, Dwarfs were in a remarkable form and they defeated their regional rivals, Elmina Sharks 3:1. Dwarfs’ Dennis Korsah was named the NASCO man of the match.
