AZ Alkmaar Director of Football Affairs Max Huiberts is pleased with the club’s signing of Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq. The talented attacker joins the Dutch club from Swedish team BK Häcken.
The 23-year-old right-winger underwent a medical assessment in Alkmaar on Tuesday. For the former Ghanaian youth international, AZ Alkmaar will be paying an estimated fee of €4 million.
“Ibrahim has performed consistently at BK Häcken for two years,” said Max Huiberts. “We wanted to have another striker. That is why we have continued with the arrival of Ibrahim.
”He is a player who can play in multiple positions, but he mainly plays from the right flank and could also play in the striker.” When asked about the many options at the forefront, Huiberts explains: “We have a lot of choice and a lot of quality at the forefront.
”We can bring forwards who can make a difference and make the game go round. We’ve seen that a number of times this season.
”If you are going to play a lot of matches and want to be active in multiple leagues, you also have to be strong in width. With the signing of Ibrahim, we are once again adding a lot of quality to the vanguard.”
