Black Stars head coach Avram Grant speaks about his concerns upon his arrival in Egypt stating that his favorite hero is Anwar El-Sadat.
The Israeli manager was warned in Israel to not travel to Egypt prior to Ghana’s crucial encounter against Egypt in the second round of 2018 World cup qualifications.
However, Grant was interviewed by Al-Nahar Reyada channel and was asked about his hero answering: “ I think my favorite hero is Anwar El-Sadat. When he came to Israel, I was young and there were lots of wars. I think he was very brave and proud and he wanted to ensure that no one dies from Egyptians and Israelis. ’’
When asked about security warnings regarding travelling to Egypt, the Israeli manager said: “ Yes, I knew about these warnings but I am fully concentrated with my team.’’
“ I am a football coach and not a politician. I worked in countries that did not have good relationship with my country and there will not be much difference in Egypt.’’ Grant told Ghanaweb.
“I think there won’t be any discrimination against me in Egypt, I will be treated like any other foreigner regardless of my nationality.’’ Grant concluded.
