Asante Kotoko have taken a significant step in their pursuit of creative midfielder Godfred Abban, as they have officially written to Medeama SC for the player’s services in the ongoing transfer window.
Ghanasportspage.com can exclusively reveal that Kotoko’s interest in Abban has been sparked by the 23-year-old’s impressive form, which has caught the attention of the Porcupines’ coach, Ogum.
The club is keen to bolster their squad for the upcoming season, and Abban’s creativity and goal-scoring ability make him an attractive target.
Abban, who has been on loan from Medeama to Tamale City, has been a key player for the Mauves and Yellow lads, with two goals and five assists in 19 matches last season. With eight months left on his contract, it remains to be seen whether Medeama will be willing to let go of the talented midfielder.
The midfielder joined Medeama from Asokwa Deportivo before the start of the 2020-2021 Ghana football season, and has since become an integral part of the team.
However, it seems that Kotoko’s offer has sparked interest in Abban, and it will be up to Medeama to decide whether to let him go or hold on to his services.
