Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito believes that their victory over Aduana FC will provide the team with the momentum needed to finish the season strongly.
The Porcupine Warriors, who had gone four matches without a win, finally returned to winning form with a 1-0 triumph over the two-time Ghana Premier League champions during the Matchday 29 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium. Kwame Opoku’s 26th-minute goal was enough to secure the crucial win for the home side.
“I am very happy about this game. After the previous three matches, which were very poor, today we had the opportunity to make amends, so this win will energise us for the rest of the games,” Zito commented after the match.
With this victory, Asante Kotoko now sit in 4th place on the league standings with 50 points. They will face Hearts of Oak in the Matchday 30 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with the match set to kick off at 15:00 GMT.
