Ghanaian born former German international Gerald Asamoah has won the 2021/2022 Bundesliga 2 title with Schalke 04 as first team manager.
Asamoah was appointed in May 2021 by then new sporting director Rouven Schroeder as first team manager and he has worked with head coach Dimitrios Grammoziz to ensure that the team is back to the first tier.
Schalke finished the season on top with 65 points from 35 games and they have returned to the topglight just one season after being relegated.
Asamoah previously coached the club’s under 21 team before taking up his new role a year ago.
