Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo expressed his determination to score more goals after finding the back of the net on the opening day of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Semenyo played a crucial role in AFC Bournemouth’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. Chris Wood had given the hosts the lead in the first half, but Semenyo’s late second-half strike secured a valuable point for Bournemouth in their season opener.
Speaking to the club’s media, Semenyo shared his thoughts on his performance, saying, “It gives me confidence for the next coming games. I think the manager and the assistants have been emphasizing all preseason that if you make it to the back post, you’ll get opportunities, and that happened today. So, I just need to keep making those runs to get myself in positions where I’m going to score.”
Last season, Semenyo scored eight goals in 33 appearances for the Cherries. He will be looking to build on this form as Bournemouth prepares to host Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium next weekend.
