Former Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, has pointed fingers at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and head coach Otto Addo for the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
For the first time in two decades, the four-time African champions will not participate in the continent’s most prestigious tournament. Ghana endured a disastrous qualifying campaign, finishing bottom of their group with just three points from six matches, recording three defeats and three draws.
In an interview with Sporty FM, the U-20 FIFA World Cup winner did not hold back in his criticism of those responsible for the national team’s struggles.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Otto Addo must all share the blame for failing to qualify Ghana for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON),” he stated.
Despite the disappointment, the Black Stars will soon turn their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with crucial matches against Chad and Madagascar scheduled for later this month.
