The Ivory Coast Football Federation has rejected the controversial endorsement of Didier Drogba by the Referees Association of Ivory Coast ahead of the Ivory Coast FA Presidential elections slated for September 5th.
The Referees’ association officially elected candidate Sory Diabate when Souleymane Coulibally was the chairman of the association but in a controversial circumstances Coulibaly was ousted and one Danon Roland installed as new chairman.
The association of the men in black under the new chairman then elected to endorse the candidature of the Chelsea legend but the Sidy Diallo-led FA has rejected this new stance from the referees whist they still recognize Coulibaly as the legitimate chairman of the group.
As it stands now the former captain of the Ivory Coast national team is without an endorsement from any of the four groups of interest which is mandatory for one to contest September’s elections.
