African champions Al-Ahly were beaten 2-0 by European champions Bayern Munich on Monday night at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan in Qatar.
A brace from Robert Lewandowski in the 17th and 86th minutes condemned the Egyptian giants to a 2-0 defeat and now Ahly will place Brazilian side Palmeiras in the 3rd place match on Thursday.
Ahly had beaten Al -Duhail winners of the 2019 Qatar league to reach the semifinals but the German – who had about 65% ball possession – side proved too strong for them.
The Polish striker was at his usual best.
