Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals FC defeated Karela United FC from Anyinase with a 3-2 score line at the Sogakope Park on Sunday.
The Scientific Soccer Lads boosted their survival quest with a very slim victory at home to the Pride and Passion side in a five-goal thriller.

Striker, Abraham Wayo scored on the 12th minute mark to put the Blue and Whites lads in the lead but Premier League’s top scorer Diawisie Taylor equalized three minutes later to make it all square again.
The home team were awarded a penalty kick half way through the match which was perfectly converted by Kwaku Karikari to give the home team a 2-1 advantage at the break.
Twenty minutes from the final whistle, Varney Sando from Liberia connected very well from close range to level matters for the away team following a sweet cross from Richard Berko.

With the score level at 2-2 with quarter of an hour left on the clock, Karela United FC defenders made a great mess of a clearance inside the box and Evans Owusu took the opportunity to poke home the winning goal for the home team with 14 minutes to go.
Liberty came under a little pressure but held their grounds to record a pivotal home win in their quest to survive relegation this season.
Liberty will play Hearts of Oak SC at the Accra Sports Stadium next weekend in their penultimate match of the season before their final game of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season at home to fellow strugglers Kumasi King Faisal FC.
