Astro turf expert, Robert Coleman has given a damning verdict on the much-talked-about Crossby Awuah Memorial pitch.
Previously known as the Anyinase park, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation sponsored the renovation of the home grounds for Karela Fc to what is now known as the Crossby Awuah Memorial park.
Speculations about the quality of the CAM park was further put to sword when leading astro turf developer and CEO of Wembly Sports Constructions, Mr. Robert Coleman said in an interview on angel sports.
”That astro turf over there if FIFA comes over there and say they want to see the quality, the yearn, the colour I don’t think it will meet FIFA standard”.
The quality of television coverage at CAM park has been very questionable prompting football fans to compare the pitch to the Sogakope Stadium which is identified as the benchmark for astro turfs in the country.
Ghana National Petroleum Corporation renovated the stadium as part of their corporate social responsibly towards the community.
