Nartey Polo of Burkina Faso team Salitas FC have predicted doom for Obuasi Ashantigold SC in the CAF Confederation Cup ahead of the return leg.
The former New Edubiase player who hails from Ghana but plys his trade in Burkina Faso with Salitas FC have taunted before the meet in Burkina Faso.
“I can tell with boldness and without hesitation that, we will not spare Ashgold in Burkina Faso when they return for the second leg of the Confederation Cup prelims”, Confident Nartey Polo told Kumasi-based Pure FM.
According to the Ghanaian, whatever it would take his team to beat their opponents and progress to the next stage of the competition after drawing goalless in Obuasi would be done to see them through.
” We’ll do everything possible to make sure we elimate Ashantigold and they were on top in the first leg because we only arrived in Obuasi hours to kick off and that affected us during the match”, he stated.
On the other hand, the former MTN FA Cup winner with New Edubiase FC man revealed that, he asked his colleagues to die on the field for him and not the team.
“Before the game, I pleaded with my team mates to play the game in my honour by not allowing Ashgold to beat us and they did just that to ensure I wasn’t disgraced”, he said.
Furthermore, Nartey Polo, made a wild accusation during the interview, claiming that the hosts threw ‘Black Magic’ (Juju) into one of the goal posts but that didn’t work because the magic couldn’t cross the goal line.
“Ashantigold SC used Juju in our encounter but it didn’t work because we also came very prepared and even their Juju couldn’t enter our post and that should tell you why it ended work in their favour”, he alleged.
Salitas FC held the Miners to a goalless draw at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium and are booming in confidence to eliminate the Ghanaian club when the two square off in Burkina Faso for the second leg.
