Ghanaian attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus will not be in action for Ajax Amsterdam until next year, the club has announced.
The 20-year old was injured on Wednesday evening in the UEFA Champions League match against Liverpool after a clash with Fabinho.
The Ghanaian international was almost teary when the medical team confirmed he needed to be substituted.
Research done by the medical team of the club shown that there is an injury to his meniscus in his right knee that requires surgery.
”It is expected that it will no longer be available for use before the winter break.” the club said.

Kudus joined Ajax in the summer on a five-year deal from Danish side FC Nordjaeland.
