Ghana Premier League side SC Medeama goalkeeper, Eric Ofori Antwi is dying to join Obuasi-based club Ashantigold SC.
The former Ghana U20 first choice goalie, says he cannot wait to be in post for the Miners in their CAF inter-club campaign this season.
Speaking exclusively to SPORTSworldGhana.com exclusively, he said; I can’t wait to receive an offer from Ashantigold to become their new number safest pair of hands in post.”
The Ghana Black Stars B shot-stopper revealed his eagerness to join the Yellow and Blacks for the upcoming season in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.
“I would jump at the chance to play for Ashantigold and also in Africa, and for that matter, I am always ready and available to join them if they table the tight offer for me”, he said.
Furthermore, Ofori noted that, if Ashgold comes calling for his services with the right deal, he will be in Obuasi the next day to begin his stay with the Miners.
“If the right offer comes today, the next day I will be at the team’s training center to start training preparations with my new teammates ahead of the 2020-21 season.
Ofori, who is still under contract with Medeama also stated that, he wouldn’t force a move away from the Yellow and Mauves should the two clubs fail to reach an agreement.
“In as much as I would like to wear the Miners jersey, there is absolutely no way I would force a move away from my current club should both parties fail to reach an agreement”, he revealed.
“Medeama has always treated me well and I am not going to be ungrateful to the management and the technical team, same as my colleagues and the fans by forcing my way of the club.”
Ofori, though ready to switch to Ashantigold SC, would want the Miners to agree on a fee with his current club, Medeama so he can leave in peace but not pieces.
“I don’t want to leave for Ashantigold as a rebel at Medeama, but rather I would like to leave the team in peace so I would be pleased if Ashantigold speaks to me and the club to reach an agreement before I move to Obuasi ahead of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.”
“But in conclusion, all I want to say is, it will be great for me to play for Ashantigold to show the whole continent of Africa what I’m made off”, he added.
