Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold SC have opened discussions over a possible deal for former Ghana youth star Patrick Asmah as they prepare to represent Ghana in next season’s Caf Confederation Cup competition, SPORTSworldGhana.com can exclusively report.
The miners are currently in the transfer making, chasing some top players to revamp their squad ahead of their African campaign and ready to bring back Asmah to the GPL to relaunch his dwindling career.
The former BA United defender who could not make a breakthrough at the club has been released after ending his loan spell with Slovakian club FK Senica.
Asmah, 24, had featured on loan at Serie B side Salernitana before making the switch to Slovakia.
The left-back was one of the stars of the Black Satellites team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015 earning him a move to Italy.
Asmah who has featured for all national teams except the Black Stars has also previously played for Serie B side Avellino.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed and Berekum Chelsea defender Ahmed Adams could also join the Obuasi-based club for their participation in Africa next season.
