Alhaji Yakubu Moro –owner and Bankroller of Division One League club Berekum Arsenal, has slammed the Ghana Football Association (GFA), stressing they are confused leadership following decision to reduce the national Division One League from 48- 18 participating clubs.
The country’s football governing body’s Executive Council, recently announced that it has taken a decision to form a 5-member committee for the implementation of the transitional provision on the number of participating clubs in the National Division One League.
However, Yakubu Moro, says this is not the right moment for the GFA to introduce an 18-club Division One League.
He argues that “there are more important things to be done at the GFA rather than deliberating on these issues,” Yakubu Moro told Sunyani-based Space FM.
“The GFA is trying to be smart here, they want to divert the club’s minds from the in coming FIFA money.
“Would the FA pay back the monies to those clubs which will affected if the 18 club league is materialised?” he quizzed.
“The FA President is not of himself, he listens to whatever some people at the GFA tell him, he should be a man of himself.”
“If the FA doesn’t take care this 18 club league issues will end up in court.
“It’s totally incomprehensible to me as far as this issue is concerned, we the clubs must kick against this,” he adminished.
