Ghanaian defender Denis Odoi has signed for Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda on a free transfer. The 37-year-old full-back has agreed to a short-term deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the season, with an option to extend for another year.
Odoi reunites with fellow Ghana international Kamal Sowah, bringing back a partnership last seen with the Black Stars during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Breda confirmed the move in an official announcement on Monday.
According to the club, Odoi’s arrival offers a timely boost to their defence, which has been hit by injuries in recent weeks. His experience, versatility, and leadership qualities are expected to play a key role as Breda strengthens its squad for the remainder of the campaign.
Odoi comes with extensive European experience. The veteran defender previously featured for Club Brugge and Royal Antwerp in Belgium, as well as Fulham in England’s Premier League and Championship. He has also played for KSC Lokeren, Sint-Truiden, and OH Leuven, after developing through the youth systems of Anderlecht, Genk, and OH Leuven.
He is expected to slot into the Breda setup immediately as the team seeks improved stability and depth in their backline.
