Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of highly-rated defender Godwin Cudjoe from Division One League side Mighty Jets, with the move confirmed by the club’s communications department.
The 22-year-old centre-back, who is equally comfortable filling in across the defensive line, has signed a three-year contract after completing his medical earlier this week.
Cudjoe gained valuable top-flight experience last season during a loan spell with Great Olympics, where he impressed with his composure, aerial strength, and versatility. His standout displays quickly caught the attention of Hearts’ technical team, who have been eager to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Ghana Premier League campaign.
Club officials believe Cudjoe’s arrival not only provides immediate reinforcement but also fits into Hearts of Oak’s long-term rebuilding strategy, which prioritises signing young, battle-tested talents capable of delivering consistency and growth.
With the Phobians determined to bounce back strongly after a difficult campaign, the acquisition of Cudjoe is seen as a key step in their quest to reclaim dominance in Ghanaian football. He is expected to compete for a starting spot and play a crucial role in the team’s backline this season.
