Ghanaian football powerhouse Asante Kotoko have landed in Durban, South Africa, as they gear up for a highly anticipated Toyota Cup showdown against Kaizer Chiefs.
The team left Accra on Tuesday, July 22, and arrived at King Shaka International Airport on Wednesday. Upon arrival, the squad was warmly welcomed by officials of the South African club and have since checked into the Protea Hotel Fire and Ice for accommodation.
The players will have a day to rest before resuming full-scale training on Thursday as preparations intensify for the blockbuster fixture, which is set to take place on Saturday at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Toyota Cup has grown into one of the most prominent pre-season events on the continent, drawing attention from fans across Africa. This year’s clash is expected to be a thrilling encounter between two of Africa’s most celebrated clubs, both known for their rich football history and passionate supporters.
