Swedish giants Hammarby IF have officially entered the race to sign Frank Junior Adjei, tabling a concrete offer for the in-form IFK Värnamo winger, sources close to GHANAsoccernet.com have confirmed.
According to a report from Swedish outlet Expressen, the Stockholm-based club has proposed a €700,000 deal to land the 21-year-old, who has been one of the standout performers in the current Allsvenskan campaign.
Despite IFK Värnamo’s struggles this season, Adjei has caught the eye with his consistency and flair, registering two goals and an assist in 14 league outings.
Hammarby’s move comes shortly after Mjällby AIF, current leaders of the Swedish top flight, expressed interest in the pacey Ghanaian. The development hints at an impending tug-of-war between the clubs for his signature.
Adjei, who previously played for Bibiani GoldStars in the Ghana Premier League, has rapidly adapted to Swedish football, earning widespread recognition for his speed, creativity, and direct style of play.
With his contract at Värnamo running until 2026, the club maintains a strong position in ongoing negotiations. However, interest in the talented winger is expected to grow, potentially sparking a bidding war.
A transfer to Hammarby could represent a significant leap in Adjei’s career, not only boosting his exposure on a bigger platform but also enhancing his chances of a future call-up to Ghana’s senior national team.
