Rangers are reportedly interested in acquiring Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi according to according to the Scottish Sun.
Last season, Rak-Sakyi played on loan at Sheffield United, where he scored seven goals and provided two assists, contributing to the Blades’ journey to the playoff final, though they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
Sheffield United’s continued presence in the Championship seems to have hindered their chances of signing him permanently, thus creating an opportunity for Rangers. Crystal Palace is said to be asking for £10 million to sell him this summer.
It remains uncertain whether Rangers intend to negotiate a permanent transfer or initially bring him in on loan, which would depend on securing significant funds for Hamza Igamane first.
Rak-Sakyi has become a primary target for Rangers as they seek to enhance their options in the wide positions, with the club’s new owners aiming to sign up to three wingers in the upcoming weeks.
Rangers currently have limited options in wide areas, underscoring the necessity for proven, consistent quality in those roles.
Rak-Sakyi has played eight times in the Premier League for the Eagles but could be sold this summer, given the options ahead of him in the squad.
The England youth international spent the 2022-23 season with Charlton Athletic, notching 15 goals and eight assists in 43 league matches.
