Napoli have identified Isak Hien as a key defensive target, with new head coach Antonio Conte reportedly a strong admirer of the Swedish-Ghanaian centre-back.
The 25-year-old enjoyed an impressive spell with Atalanta last season, showcasing his composure, physicality, and defensive intelligence—qualities that have not gone unnoticed by the Serie A champions.
Conte, who is aiming to rebuild Napoli’s backline ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, is said to be particularly keen on Hien’s profile. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed the coach’s interest, though he warned that a deal could be difficult to execute.
“A name that is considered and that I can assure you Antonio Conte really likes—but who I think is very difficult—is Isak Hien,” Romano revealed in a YouTube broadcast, as quoted by The Football Channel.
Hien joined Atalanta in January 2024 and is under contract until 2028. While Napoli may be preparing an approach, Atalanta are reportedly reluctant to let go of the reliable defender, which could pose a significant obstacle in negotiations.
Should Napoli manage to lure Hien to Naples, it would represent a major boost to Conte’s defensive setup as he looks to guide the club to further domestic and European success.
