Nations FC head coach Kassim Mingle has declared that his side will not allow complacency to derail their title ambitions as they approach the final stretch of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The Abrankese-based club currently sit atop the league table with a four-point cushion, fueling optimism among fans that the dream of lifting the trophy in their debut top-flight season could soon become reality.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Mingle emphasized the team’s determination and discipline, warning that despite their strong position, they are taking nothing for granted.
“We will not allow complacency to creep into our team. We will stay focused and push until the last game to prove we are truly champions,” he said firmly.
Mingle, who previously coached Bechem United, made a candid comparison between his former club and his current employers.
“I worked at Bechem, and we came close several times, but they were not really interested in winning the league. Here at Nations, the ambition is clear: they want the title, and I’m prepared to deliver,” he revealed.
Since gaining promotion to the Premier League in 2023, Nations FC have emerged as one of the most consistent and tactically astute sides in the competition. Their attractive brand of attacking football, coupled with strong defensive organization, has earned them plaudits and positioned them as serious title contenders.
Under Mingle’s leadership, the team has maintained a laser-sharp focus, navigating difficult fixtures with composure and resilience. But with just two games remaining — including crucial clashes against Basake FC and Heart of Lions — Mingle insists the team must maintain intensity and approach every match as a final.
“The race is still open. We’re taking it one game at a time — first against Basake, then Heart of Lions,” he stated.
Should Nations FC maintain their momentum and secure the league crown, it would mark a historic achievement for the young club, etching their name into Ghanaian football history as first-time champions in just their first season at the top level.
