Brands Manager of Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has hailed the club’s defender Razak Simpson as arguably the best player in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Simpson has played a pivotal role in Nations FC’s impressive campaign, with the team currently sitting at the top of the table with 54 points and four games left in the season. His consistent performances in defence have not only solidified the club’s backline but also earned him recognition at the national level.
The 24-year-old was handed call-ups to the Black Stars for both the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where he impressed on his debut.
“He [Razak Simpson] has proven that he is arguably the best player on the local scene, and once he was given an opportunity to play for the Black Stars, we all saw the stuff that he is made of,” Boakye Ansah said in an interview with Citi Sports.
He further emphasized the club’s long-term commitment to player development: “We believe that being in the business of football, we should be able to develop talents not just for Nations FC, but we should be able to develop talents that will be extremely beneficial to our national team course.”
Simpson is expected to marshal the defence when Nations FC take on relegation-threatened Legon Cities in a crucial Matchday 31 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
