Asante Kotoko will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten streak and strengthen their hold at the top of the Ghana Premier League table when they take on Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors have found their rhythm in recent weeks, stringing together important wins that have propelled them to the league summit.
Their performances at home have been particularly impressive, boasting 10 victories, one draw, and just two defeats in Kumasi this season. That strong home record will give them confidence heading into this crucial fixture.
Bechem United, on the other hand, have had a turbulent run. Although they were awarded three points due to Nsoatreman FC’s withdrawal from the league, their last two matches played on the pitch have ended without a win. Currently 8th on the table and trailing Kotoko by seven points, Bechem will need to raise their game significantly if they are to cause an upset.
In terms of recent history between the two sides, Bechem have had the upper hand. Since March 2022, they have won two of their last six meetings with Kotoko, who have managed just one victory, while the other three matches ended in draws. Bechem also edged the reverse fixture 1-0 on November 10, 2024.
