Nsoatreman FC have advanced to the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage after completing a dominant sweep over Chad’s Elect Sport.
The Ghanaian FA Cup champions initially made a strong statement with a 3-0 victory in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In the return leg at Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé, Walid Fuseini opened the scoring with 10 minutes left in the first half. Stephan Diyou added another goal just four minutes before the final whistle, securing a 5-0 aggregate win.
This historic achievement propels Nsoatreman FC into the next round, where they will face either Rwanda’s Police FC or Algeria’s Constantine. The first leg of this tie is set to begin on September 15, 2024.
Before continuing their continental campaign, Nsoatreman will compete in the Ghana Premier League, starting with their season opener against Young Apostles on September 6.
This marks Nsoatreman FC’s debut appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
