Ghanaian duo Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew were on target once again for Crystal Palace as they secured a 3-1 preseason victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier today.
The win marks the second time the pair have scored in a single game for the Eagles in their preparations for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Schlupp started the game strongly, opening the scoring in the 35th minute with a great goal. Jordan Ayew, who came on as a substitute after recess, scored for Palace with a cool finish in the 50th minute.
The goal was Ayew’s second of the preseason, and his eighth overall goal in pre-season friendlies since joining the club.
In injury time, Jordan Ayew turned provider by setting up Asher Agbinone to restore the two-goal margin after Santiago Bueno had earlier reduced the deficit.
The win is a significant boost for Crystal Palace as they continue their preparations for the new season. With European football on their minds, Palace will be looking to use this preseason to get themselves adequately ready for the challenges ahead.
The Narvy-Marime Corps Memorial Stadium in the USA played host to the match, which saw Palace come out on top against their Premier League rivals.
With this win, Palace will look to build on their momentum and continue to work towards their goal of securing at least an European spot by the close of the next campaign.
