Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded UEFA’s Goal of the Season, for his overhead kick against the Bianconeri for Real Madrid.
The Portuguese superstar was applauded by the Turin crowd for his stunning effort in the first leg of last season’s Champions League quarter-final, with Madrid going on to win the competition.
Ronaldo has admitted that the ovation he received was a factor in his decision to join the Old Lady, and his goal has now been voted as the best of the season.

Dmitri Payet’s goal for Marseille against RB Leipzig in the Europa League semi-final came in second, with Spain Under-17’s Eva Navarro’s strike against Spain in the European Championship final rounding out the top three.
Thanks to everyone who voted for me. Will never forget that moment, specially the reaction of the fans in the stadium. #UEFA Goal of the Season #SpecialMoment pic.twitter.com/9teapgD9MW
