The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially confirmed that the upcoming qualifier match between Ghana and the Central African Republic for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
In a statement released on Tuesday, May 14, the GFA announced, “Ghana will battle Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 19.00 Hrs.”
This announcement comes after concerns were raised last month when a CAF inspection team expressed dissatisfaction with the stadium.
Ghana was at risk of losing approval to host international matches unless issues were addressed promptly.
Now, with the Ghana FA’s confirmation, it seems all necessary adjustments have been made, ensuring that the crucial match will indeed be held in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
