Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of Asante Kotoko, has convened an urgent meeting on Thursday, April 18th, with the Interim Management Committee at his Manhyia residence.
The meeting aims to bring together key stakeholders, including the playing body, technical team, and supporters’ leadership, to tackle pressing issues surrounding the club.
At the upcoming emergency meeting convened by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the future of head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and the interim management committee (IMC) will be decided.
The meeting will determine whether Coach Ogum will retain his position or be relieved of his duties. Additionally, a pivotal decision will be made regarding the continuity or dissolution of the interim management committee.
The outcome of these deliberations will significantly impact the direction of Asante Kotoko as they seek to address their performance challenges and plot a course for success in the Ghana Premier League.
Concerns have escalated over Kotoko’s recent struggles in the Ghana Premier League, where they have managed only one win in their last seven games, leaving them languishing at 11th place on the league table with 33 points.
The tipping point came when a group of supporters disrupted the club’s training session, demanding the resignation of Coach Prosper Ogum and his technical staff.
In response to the unrest and the team’s poor performance, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is proactively intervening to address the situation.
The emergency meeting aims to foster unity among stakeholders and devise strategies to guide Kotoko back to winning ways.
The club’s supporters eagerly anticipate the outcome, hopeful that it will mark a turning point in Kotoko’s fortunes as they strive to reclaim their winning form in the Ghana Premier League.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will seek to bounce back when they face league leaders FC Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Matchday 27 fixture on Sunday.
