The Black Stars delivered a lackluster performance, resulting in a 1-0 defeat to Comoros on Tuesday, November 21, during the second game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
As guests in the match held at Moroni Stadium, Ghana had opportunities to secure a lead, particularly in the first half. However, their chances went awry, with striker Antoine Semenyo missing a promising opportunity by firing his shot into the side net.
Another chance presented itself when Inaki Williams delivered a well-executed cross to Jordan Ayew, but the Crystal Palace forward unfortunately headed the ball over the bar.
Towards the end of the first half, a defensive lapse from Ghana allowed Myziane Maolida of Comoros to capitalize, unleashing an unstoppable shot that beat goalkeeper Richard Ofori, granting Comoros a 1-0 lead.
Despite the Black Stars’ efforts to turn the tide in the second half, they were unable to find the net, ultimately succumbing to a 1-0 defeat after the full 90 minutes. This result propelled Comoros to the top of Group I in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, while Ghana remains in the third position on the standings.
