Black Stars defender, Gideon Mensah, says his time on loan at Bordeaux was a challenging period not just for him but also for the club.
Mensah featured in 23 Ligue 1 games last year, starting just 13 of them as the team was relegated to the Ligue 2.
The 23-year-old, who joined recently promoted team AJ Auxerre, has moved back to France.
The left-back talks about his experience at Bordeaux in an interview with Joy Sports.
“It was a difficult season. We started good, I must say. But going on to the last part of the season was very difficult,” he said.
“For me, it was the first experience having a season like that. I think it’s part of the season and we still learning. It makes us strong and keeps us going.
“It wasn’t an easy one [for me or the club] but we had no choice.”
