Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has admitted that he is not fit enough to play for Ghana senior national team, the Black Stars ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.
According to him, he needs to to work on his weight and have to be in the right shape to play competitive football before thinking about a possible Ghana return.
He also admitted that he is not fit to play at the the highest level and believes would have to play competitive football for a club first.
“I am not fit to play and have to lose some weight, have to be in the right shape to play competitive football but now am not”, – Asamoah Gyan said.
He’s the all time top scorer for Ghana and has played in all three FIFA World Cup tournaments Ghana has taken part between 2006 and 2014.
Asamoah Gyan is also the all time Africa top scorer in the history of the FIFA World Cup competition.
Last season, the Ghana legend played for Legon Cities FC in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season.
