Head coach for Ghana Premier League giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Prosper Narteh Ogum has showered praises on his player Issac Oppong, describing him as very intelligent.
The 17-year-old Ghanaian prodigy scored a jaw-breaking goal to win Kotoko the week three Ghana Premier League encounter with resilient Bibiani Gold Stars FC.
The new sensational kid on the block scored with a beautiful strike in the second half of the match after a goalless first 45 minutes of the match to put the visitors 1-0 up inside 53 minutes.
His goal was enough to win all three points for the Porcupine Warriors who maintain top spot in the league with three wins out of three matches.
Due to his stallar display and exploits in the Ghana Premier League, coach Prosper Narteh Ogum spoke very highly of the young man after his team’s victory over Gold Stars FC at the Duns Park in Bibiani.
“He’s an intelligent player, he’s able to read and analyze the game. If you look at the way he scored the goal, he just saw a little space there and he just put a spin on the ball and that is it, It takes a player with a high game to be able to that decision within that restricted or limited space in the game so I am proud of him, he’s a young chap, I will talk to him to keep his focus so that he doesnt become complacent and will be able to deliver as and when he’s in the game”
Kotoko are three points clear of second place team Kumasi King Faisal FC who will play on Sunday against regional rivals Obuasi Ashantigold SC at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
