Great Olympics coach Annor Walker has urged Government to set up a committed and fervent committee to investigate why Ghana has not been able to end the Afcon drought.
Walker, however, believes the country despite the fat budgets, will need committed and dedicated players who are willing to die for the country to win its fifth Afcon title.
The former Berekum Chelsea and Nania FC gaffer in an interview with KUMASI 104.1 FM, however, said the target for Black Stars to clinch 2021 Afcon trophy and Semi-final of the world cup is a realistic decision.
The President expressed his desperation to see Ghana end her AFCON title failure since 1982 and says government will provide an upfront of $10 million. The remaining 15 million is to be raised through sponsorships.
“We should rather sit down and notify our fallible for not winning the trophy when we get to final as well as scrutinizes things well to find solutions to it,” Walker said.
“Ghanaians have an enthusiastic and experienced gaffer who can bring the trophy but lack of love and commitment is a major problem which is hindering our success.
“Pumping of money to our Black Stars has bear indiscipline and lack of love and affection when serving the nation with national identity.
“Everyone needs to be paid when work is done and no one can work with an empty stomach but giving a huge amount of money before serving leads to failures in most cases. Without the love and commitment for playing rather than the pumping of money then the success is far away.” He ended.
