AZ Alkmaar winger Ibrahim Sadiq has been called up to Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Sudan, according to a statement from his club.
Although Sadiq was not listed in the squad announced by Black Stars coach Otto Addo last Friday, AZ Alkmaar confirmed his inclusion while announcing their players on international duty this month.
In their statement, AZ Alkmaar noted, “The third round of the Africa Cup of Nations is also coming up, and Ibrahim Sadiq is part of the Ghanaian national team, which will face Sudan on October 10 at the Accra Sports Stadium, followed by a second match on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.”
Sadiq, who has scored four goals and provided three assists in eight matches this season, will be making his senior debut for Ghana.
He previously represented the country at the U-17 and U-20 levels.
