The Pharaohs emerged victorious against Guinea 1-0 on Sunday in the first round fixture of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In their next game, Egypt will be facing Ethiopia who just suffered a 2-1 defeat to Malawi.
The game will be taking place in Malawi as Ethiopia-based venues failed to meet the minimum requirements as per the CAF Club Licensing criteria.
The record-holders received a massive hit ahead of the game, with skipper Mohamed Salah being ruled out due to injury.
According to the EFA, Salah’s injury is a minor muscle strain but head coach Ehab Galal preferred to rest him.
On the bright side, goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy has reportedly tested negative for COVID-19 and can join the national team on their trip to Malawi.
